Funeral Arranger?

In my few months of job/career searching, I came upon one that's been growing in demand. It's odd, but it's a Funeral Arranger. I've looked it up a few times and it says that there's no particular criteria for it, and you do some personal training with mentors, company bonuses and tips, and a yearly income of $75k or higher.

I really want to call in about this, but I'm not sure. If I can get a car I could totally do it, but I feel weird about it. Is that weird? It didn't have any specific age and I could talk to people and console and arrange things, I'm good at organizing.

Now I'm rambling my thoughts out to here. Anyone have some advice? I sort of feel like it's a "sign" that I should at least call up about it, since how often do you randomly come across an add for a Funeral Arranger job? Haha.

And I'm sorry I haven't posted much in a bit; it's getting to the last few weeks of school and I've gone into a sort of "I want to hide under a rock" mode with all the pressure of finding classes, finding a career to pursue, finding a part time job, and trying to find a goddang car. You guys remember those issues with my grandma and the car buying, right? Well imagine that times 100 and that's what I'm in NOW. Cannot into win...

So I should be up and running when break comes along.

Yeah? Me too, it's pretty swell. Well, if you're in the USA, you may want to pay some close attention to this. I feel as if this bill isn't getting the attention it desperately needs. See, Congress has made this very, very vague bill (that is currently being talked over) about IP/Internet Censorship.

What's that? Well, to make it simple, this bill would make it illegal to: cover a musicians song, download any MP3 without paying (which I don't have a problem with this one), link to any copyrighted material, posting yourself singing a song online, and much more that is talked about here in this thread from a friend of mine in the Coffee Shop.

See, this bill is very gray. They're pretty much nit picking, and not making it clear on what will be illegal, and what we can be deemed a "felon" for doing. They don't say how to avoid doing these things. This bill could very easily ruin many blogs, vlogs, and pretty much every future artist out there. We everyday Internet users know that it's extremely hard for a musician to get noticed, and how almost all of them start out is by covering songs of their favorite bands. We also know that many musicians don't mind their fans covering their songs, and love that they're inspiring people to create their own. We also know that the money gained by someone buying their song off iTunes does not go directly to them, but their record label. The biggest way they make money is merchandise and concerts.

Anyway, slightly sidetracked here, this bill could potentially fuck over major sites such as YouTube and Blogger. If this bill passes, I could get my blog deleted because I love using lyrics and quotes that relate to my posts, and I cite them.

I'm not sure if this bill is only for things you do not cite, or if it's for anything that you don't own and have created. Like I said, the bill is very vague and it's hard to interpret.

So please, fellow Americans, sign the below petition.

Dying Star.

So, I'm pretty sure I just watched a star die.

And then come back to life.

But anyway. In the corner of my eye, I see this big twinkling light outside of my window in the sky. At first I thought it was this meteor that was supposed to pass through our area a few hours ago, but it wasn't moving. It looked like it was moving, but I think that's because I was staring at it so long. So then I thought it was a UFO! But that didn't last too long. Lol.

It looked like a burst of light, a few times the size of a normal star. It had little tints of orangeish-red color, and some blue and another color I oddly can't identify... o.O I've read stuff like this before, in books where they're trying to describe a color not known to man. I'm like, how can you not generalize a color? ROYGBIV, it's not hard! But then there's this star outside my window, and I can't tell if it was a purply, greenish, or yellow color. Maybe blue, I don't know, it was a really pretty color. Mostly it's orange though. Like in this article about dying stars with jellyfish rings (I know, it's weird).

So after looking at it for nearly an hour now (bed is for wimps!) it's gotten significantly smaller. It went from obvous-shiny-sparkly-thing-in-the-sky to a pin prick of twinkling light. And then it finally completely disappeared.

And now it's back. I think the clouds just got in the way, hard to tell, but it's still going in all of it's sparkly orange glory, just tinier. I wish I could stay up to watch it completely vanish, but alas I have school tomorrow :( And even worse, it's a pointless class I'm taking for extra units (and FAFSA cash, shhh lol) at freakin' 9 a.m.

I've had this song on repeat for over an hour now; I just can't stop listening to it. It's so depressing, but the cover from Bastille is incredibly beautiful. The original... I would've looked over somewhere.

That awkward moment when the cover is better than the original.

Maybe if they had better music production and planned the song out better, it'd be a descent song music wise. Nonetheless, the lyrics are powerful. What I like best about Bastille's cover, other than it being purely amazing, is that it's really a cover, the music and tone is completely different than the original. It's disappointing when you listen to a "cover" of a song, and the beat is just sped up or there's more bass or something.

Just a tiny rant on some stupid people I've encountered a lot lately:

People Who Park in the Red Zone:

We all have seen them, and been inconvenienced by these people.

Seriously, unless you're a firefighter, or a cop on duty (actually doing something, not just sitting there...) don't park in the red zone!

It says right there in big white letters "NO PARKING/FIRE LANE". So why do you park there?

Ohhh right, "I'll only be a second." Well, go be a second in the parking lot. And when the security guard tells you to move, that doesn't mean move five fucking feet down the lane. It means to park in one of the hundreds of spaces in the lot.

Oh, and you, Mr. Guy-With-Really-Bad-Hair-Do, what was the point of parking in the fire lane (for 20 minutes) when there was an open parking spot front and center 7 feet away...? Really dude?! You parked in the fire lane, on a one car road, to get some Mexican food or something. Yes, that was really important.

I don't care if you're picking up your kid from school; the grocerys parking lot's "no parking zone" is not a "student pick up zone".

IT SAYS RIGHT THERE ON THE FLOOR IN ALL CAPITALS.

You are not special, you are never "only a minute." You are usually about 30 or more minutes. That's one plus 29 more.

And then, AND THEN!! You have the audacity to complain about the traffic of everyone else doing it. Why? Because it inconveniences you doing the wrong thing.

Women Who "Hover":

Ladies, I'm sure we've all been in some nasty ass public bathrooms, right? Toilet paper on the floor, unidentifiable wet spots on the floor (how does that even happen in a woman's bathroom? You're sitting! You don't pee out of your thighs!) and usually something on the seat.

Not all public restrooms, but a few. So, we usually just pile on the seat protectors or make our own out of TP, right? Then shove it in with your foot when you're done and flush!

This is the right way.

The wrong way is hovering. Unless you are completely out of toilet paper and/or seat protectors, there is no reason to hover. And if you do hover, then use the damn TP to wipe off your spots.

See, I know you're all paranoid you'll contract butt AIDS or gonorrhea or some other disgusting disease, since that happens all the time when using public restrooms *rolls eyes*, but there's proper bathroom etiquette, and improper etiquette.

Proper would be what I described up there.

Improper is hovering, and then just leaving the bathroom after you're done, not cleaning up your misses. If we all did that, there'd be no mess, you see?

Isn't it simple?!

Oh, and those women who do cover the seat in TP (usually about 3 rolls worth), and still hover. Then you just get the TP stuck to the seat, and some of you don't even fucking clean THAT off!

WHAT THE HELL. You are a lady! Ladies don't do that. I don't care how butch, manly, punk, goth, or whatever "unladylike" you are, you fucking clean up after yourself so you:
1 - Save yourself the embarrassment of having someone walk in after you going, "Wow, she's disgusting!"
2 - Keep the toilet area clean so it doesn't end up in the state you're trying to avoid!

SIMPLE LOGIC, PEOPLE. LETS USE IT.

Do you think everyone around you is just your servant, and that you owe them no gratitude for them taking the time out of their day, to do something nice for you?

REALLY? Well, I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but the world does not revolve around you. Unless you're the Sun, then it does. But I doubt you are.

It's called being "polite," and it works best when both parties partake in it.

If I ever encounter you and hold the door open for you, and you for some fucking reason cannot say thank you or even smile at me in thanks, I will say, "you're welcome, bitch," and regret nothing. I got no respect, why should you? I know it's a little childish, but you're apparently not worth more than that.

I've been thinking about this quote. What it means, well, that's obvious. Without bad days, you wouldn't appreciate the good days. When I first heard this, I thought it was completely true. It can apply to many things in life.

But then I really started to think about it.

If everyday that I lived was a good day, would I really stop appreciating them? Now I don't mean the most amazing day of my life where everything is perfect and goes exactly according to plan (but I don't think I'd complain if that is how my day went. Who would?). Just a simple day where I can reflect back at the end and say, "Today was a good day. I enjoyed it."

Right now, I don't think I'd be any less thankful. Why would I? I mean, it may not be the sort of appreciation where I'm like, "Oh thank God today was a good day. I don't think I could handle anymore stress and drama. I'm so grateful today was calm and enjoyable!" I don't really like when I come home at the end of the day and think that it's a relief the day was good.

There could be a couple downers, but if it ended with me thinking the day was fun, enjoyable, or just overall good, I'd be happy. If anything, wouldn't it be a good thing to reflect on your life after so many years of pleasant days, and think, "Man, my life is pretty great!" ?

Plus, no one likes bad days. If you love bad days, you're weird. And also, that would technically count as a good day since you enjoyed the badness.

...I think I'm getting a bit off track. Anyway. Do any of you agree/disagree with the quote? Maybe someone can emphasize more on it.

My grandma is watching Home-Shopping.

As you all know, she's been complaining that she "just can't afford this and that" anymore.

She sees this stupid rolling light up toy, and says, "Oh, maybe I should get that for Arthur!"
Arthur is Armando (the shitty caretaker) 2 year old kid.

This really pissed me off. Why? Well, like I said, she's always complaining that she can't afford these things she needs, or money to fix things that are broken, but she has enough to buy shit off of Home-Shopping for a kid that isn't hers?

And to sound just a little bit greedy/selfish (take your pick), not enough to raise the budget on my future used car?

Armando and his wife are well off, they can afford nice cars and all the things their two kids need. I don't know why she has this urge to buy the kid, of a guy whom she hates and complains about all day everyday, toys. All the time. We'll be at Target or somewhere, and she'll find some kid thing and want to buy it for him.

You're already paying the man, so you're already technically buying them their dinner, cars, clothes, food, and other whatnots.

And she wonders why she "can't afford things" anymore.

FML.

P.S - It also took me hours, technically a day, to find a layout I liked.

That quote would've been so much more awesome without that last sentence.

Anyway, I was browsing Yahoo! News like I usually do, and this article about Whole Foods caught my eye.

Whole Foods gets a lot of shit. Everyone criticizes it. "It's expensive." "It's just as healthy as your regular store." "Organic food tastes like crap!" "The people who shop there are all stuck up health fiends."

And yeah, it's true, to a degree. It is expensive, some of the organic things don't taste that great, and you encounter the occasional Holier-Than-Thou shopper in yoga attire.

Though I was recently informed as to why some of it was so expensive, like the gluten free things. Most of the people who eat gluten free foods (pasta, bread, etc) are ones with health conditions, like Celiac Disease (damage to the intestinal lining of the small intestine due to eating things with gluten). Others, like my mother, just become extremely bloated when eating regular bread; it happens to me too. Celiac is much worse though, since if you were to continue to eat things with gluten, you could become very sick.

Anyway, so the gluten free things are so expensive (anywhere for that matter) since it's not in high demand. Some just substitute pasta with risotto instead of buying the gluten free pasta. And since it is an organic store, a lot of the bread and pasta there is gluten free.

So that's one more or less ticked off. I'm pretty sure they raise the prices a bit so they can make a profit, like every other business on the face of the earth. Not that it really makes it any better, but they're not the only ones doing it. I think I hear more people complaining about the price of Whole Foods than I do Apple products.

Now onto the article, getting a little side tracked here. It happens.

Honestly, these people are getting way too far ahead of themselves. I doubt Whole Foods or other grocery stores are trying to "brainwash" us into buying their shit. There's ways to sell things to us subliminally, that's true. But it's nothing new and everyone knows this, so why does this even count? We all know the shop we walk into has things set up a specific way to catch our attention.

Take the flowers for instant, in Lindstrom's article. As he said, the flowers are there to give you that "we're fresh" feeling when walking into the store. The article states this as if it's a bad thing, though. As if any of you want to walk into a store and say, "ah, this place looks like shit, perfect!" Really? I'd take fresh flowers over unkempt any day. I'm sure you, dear reader, would too! So no, that is not brainwashing, it's good business.

Then he goes on to complain about all of the ice. Again with the "we're so fresh" feeling. Your neighborhood store puts all of it's perishables in those long wall coolers. Whole Foods puts them in ice. Which I've honestly found just a tad annoying since then everything I touch is wet, but eh. Not a big problem. Lindstrom says that the ice is a symbolic gesture, like when other grocery stores spray the water onto the vegetables every so often. (You cannot deny your love for those things when they go off, so don't even try).

What he says, is that the stores don't have to do that. Well, yes, they don't have to, not if they want their produce to stay fresh. I've watched a ton of cooking shows in my day, and every chef you ask will say putting your vegetables in ice water will keep them fresh and vibrant. I'm pretty sure the ice would more or less do the same; since Whole Foods doesn't use preservatives (not nearly as much as a regular grocer, at least). So without the ice and the cold, everything will go bad.

Again, I'd like to see fresh things in my store instead of shit food. Seeing brown guacamole just isn't the same as green.

So getting to the point of this post; Why are there so many articles and people complaining about Whole Foods? It's a store that's providing us with healthy food. If McDonalds or Wendy's, or some other fast food joint was built, no one would complain, even though the quality of the food makes us feel bad, and hurts our bodies.

Seriously, who feels great after eating a fast food burger? Or take-out Chinese? But yet, people continue to eat it as if it were nothing. But bring up Whole Foods, and suddenly everyone goes ape shit, as if that was what is making us fat, feel bad, bloated, and hurting our bodies.

I think you're only being brainwashed to think you're always being brainwashed.

Spoiled?

There once was this chick on my Facebook. We'll call her X.

X and I got into an argument. X was making a ton of status's complaining about her job. She has two.
Both jobs are at grocery stores. She was complaining that her second job, which is just "borrowing" her, won't fit to "her schedule". I told her that if they're just "borrowing" her, then that means they only call her when she is needed, not like a regular job.

To save you from the idiocy that is X, the conversation led her to calling me ignorant because I haven't had a job, so of course I wouldn't know anything about working!

OK, I may have been a tad more mean than that. It really went like this:

X: I hate my job!
Me : Has job during recession, is ungrateful for it.

That wasn't too bad, though. Not to me, anyway :)

She says this as if I just don't try to get a job; completely omitting the information that (at the time of the argument) I had 14 unites of classes. That's a total of 10 hours of class; four of them are 2 hours long each, two a day, except for Monday where I have three classes, one being 3 hours long.

Which, in conclusion to this, means I don't have time to hold a job and do class at the same time.

Anyway, on to the rest of what I was rambling about. Let me inform you that X knows me pretty well, and she had the lack of brain cells to say, "I don't get everything handed to me, like a car!"

In retort, I asked, "what car, X? Did you get me a car? Because I have no car."

I don't. I've talked about getting one so I could get to and from school without having to rely on my flake of a mother for rides; and so I can get a job that isn't in bus or walking distance.

I do not get things "handed" to me. I don't ever ask for things that I don't need. In fact, I use my own money (savings and money from FAFSA) to buy my necessities, like body wash/toothpaste/tampons/etc. The only time I've splurged was when Borders was going out of business and everything was half off its price. I've also bought my first 2 iPods, my first few cell phones, and paid for the first phones bill. When I was 14. I'm just good with money and I can save it up easily; is that really my fault?

No, I don't think so; I think it just means I'm smart with what I buy.

Oh, and to add to the tale that is X: She's 19 and pregnant, with a guys baby that she's barely been dating for 6 months. He still lives with his mom, who got kicked off their apartments lease for doing drugs. Now she and her boyfriend moved out into someone else's house who is renting out rooms for $700.

Yeah, I'm the stupid one alright.

X sets herself up for misfortune. It is the only way she knows. She likes to be pitied, and loves to complain about her shitty life all over Facebook, but then preaches about God. I'm not even exaggerating; for example: her last boyfriend, the first time around, harassed her so terribly after their breakup that she had to move schools. A couple months later, she gets back with him.

Again, I'm just such an idiot compared to her, right?

I don't know where she got it in her head that just because she sets herself up for these things, that it is my fault for being better off than her (financially and physically. I'd say mentally too, but that may be a bit too mean).

Now that the background story is out of the way, here is what I'm asking:

Why should someone be ashamed of what they or their family has? Financial-wise.

As in, my family (grandparents to be exact here) has worked very hard for what they have. They were born in the late 1920's, and my grandfather was a very smart man, and very respected in his field of work. My grandma was an RN for many years; enough that now she has bad knees from standing so much at work.

But in the end, they saved up and now they can afford nice things.

Why should my family not get nice things for themselves, and their grand-kids? They earned that money, they should be able to spend it how they please. If my grandmother wants to get me a $3,800 car so I can get to and from work and school (since she knows how much of a flake my mother is) how is this being spoiled, or selfish; how am I getting it handed to me? Getting it handed to me would be if they just bought me a nice car for the fuck of it.

It's a $3k used car, not a BMW, or an Audi. It's a used car that's made circa 1990's.

With X's family, yes she's more or less being forced to do this stuff on her own. However, she chose to leave her parents house (after being kicked out, but they asked her to come back); she chose to move in with her boyfriend of 2 weeks (at the time of leaving her parents house); she chose to have sex without a condom; she chose to not go to school, and work minimum wage at a grocery store instead.

I know plenty of people who are working at a grocery store and balancing school at the same time; one of them actually works a lot of overtime and still manages well.

She chose this fate for herself; in no way did I or anyone else force this upon her. I understand that she's not the best off financially; and it's not like I was either. My mother is fucked with money. This is actually our last month for food stamps. I rely on FAFSA for food/necessities money. Soon work, but not right now.

X decided to make herself a shitty path for life. I and my boyfriend chose the traditional way: School, steady relationship (no kids until we're set in our careers), get jobs and save up to move out, be moved out hopefully by next September, get new jobs, continue school and work, and then move on to good paying careers (RN and maybe cop for him, accountant for me) so we can afford nice things.

How is this getting handed to me? Just because I'm not 19 and knocked up, working minimum wage, doesn't mean I get everything handed to me! It just means I have my priorities straight.

Why on Earth should I feel bad for this?

I don't.

I'm sorry for you, X. You're trying to justify and glorify your mistakes to make it seem like you're just that much more mature than I am. You're not. You do not automatically become mature when you get pregnant. I feel no regret for having my family want nice things for me. I feel no regret for having a boyfriend who's just as set on success as I am (OK, he's a lot more set than I am, but I'm catching up!). I feel no regret for taking the traditional, preferred way of life. I feel no regret knowing I will be fine.

You will worry, and you will worry a lot. You will continue to justify all of this, and complain on Facebook.

In a year from now, my boyfriend and I will be moved out on our own going to school and starting our classes towards our careers. Career. Not a job. In a year, we will be a few steps ahead.

In a year from now, you will be right where you are as of current. Raising a baby, possibly not with your boyfriend (what guy wants to take care of a kid at 20 with a girl he's barely been with?), working at Vons. Most likely still not in school, since you can't afford to take time off work now that you have a baby to feed, clothe, and take care of.

I know, my dear readers, that sounds harsh. But it's the truth.

I regret nothing, and I'm sorry you're jealous, X.

Answer: I've actually been meaning to put some of that on here. I have some regular pencil drawings that I've had from my early High School years to put on here. So there's this song I found today, from an artist called Cry Wolf.

It's absolutely amazing, I've had it on repeat ever since I found it.

They used the piano song from this really cute short film, made by aniBOOM, Called "The Piano" by Aidan Gibbons. The song in the film is from Yann Tiersen, called "Comptine d'un autre été: l'après midi".

Don't even ask me what that means, I have no idea. But the important part is the song, it's beautiful!

Cry Wolf did a dubstep cover of it. Now this isn't a filthy dubstep song, it's slow and quiet for the most part. I personally think it's beautiful. You may or may not enjoy it, but I love it to death and I want to share it with everyone.

Oh, now we're getting nitty-gritty, huh? Well, if that's how it is...

Answer: No, I have not. Not in a sexual way, or in a "I want to be in a relationship with you" way, at least, which is what I'm pretty sure you meant ;P

I remember when I was in middle school (2003ish - 2006) there was this new fad: being bisexual. Seriously, it was "all the rage". Girls started kissing their best (female) friends on the cheeks, the lips, making those Hollywood fantasies of males come true (or making them think they were true), all that jazz.

I don't think they really understood what "bisexual" was. Suddenly every girl in my class was bisexual, or most at least. Hell, even my best friend at the time became bisexual! (She's currently dating a male, if I'm not mistaken. She's blocked me on Facebook so I can't stalk her pictures anymore xD).

And yes, I was sort of peer-pressured into becoming bisexual. I never was. I didn't lie about it though, as it may seem from that. I never said I was "bi". If someone ever asked me if I'd ever date a girl, I said "maybe," because who knows? Maybe one day I would. I can't tell the future, it's possible. If someone asked me, "do you think she's hot?" I'd answer truthfully.

That's not being bi, I know that. I was like 12 and had very dramatic friends; who didn't in middle school? Fads caught on like colds.

Other things I was pressured into liking was Nirvana. Can't say I ever really "liked" their music.

I just can't find women sexually/emotionally attractive. Honestly, I think I would hate being in a relationship with a woman. Hell, I can barely stand myself and my girl friends, what makes me think I could stand ANOTHER woman, for the rest of my life?!

HA. Noooooo thank you. No me gusta.

I've always loved the physique of a male. I'm very traditional. I like when my guy is bigger than me, stronger, taller, etc. I like to feel little and as if he can take care of me. I love the "manly man" who's also a gentleman. And I have one :)

The question comes from Neeru (who has many blogs, so I linked to their profile with the list of them), which I didn't fully understand but tried my best at answering it: Why is everything so complicated when I ever tried best for it?

Answer: I'm assuming you meant "whenever I try best for it"? If not correct me and ignore all I'm about to say; if not then continue to read.

You know, I feel the same way a lot of the time. You try so hard but don't achieve what you were aiming for. Something gets in the way, you're just not good enough at it, you don't have the right skills, everyone else is an idiot; been there, done that.

Trying gets you places, and it certainly makes you feel better if you've failed at something, because then you can say, "well, at least I put effort into it!" or "I did my best!" and then failing doesn't seem so bad anymore. But what I've realized is that sometimes trying isn't enough. With some things it's either all or nothing. You either win the game, or you lose it. You either pass the test, or fail it. As Yoda says, "do or do not, there is not try."

Yeah yeah I know, I wrote a whole post about how much I hate that quote; and my opinion still stands, just slightly less. I've grown up a bit.

Shut up, I have!

Anyway, trying makes you feel as if you did something, just not enough of that something. But that something counts! It does, I'm not saying it doesn't, it just doesn't count enough.

I would suggest you take out the phrase "I tried" from your vocabulary; just aim for "I will". If you aim for success and don't allow your doubts to weigh you down, you'll get to it faster. Keep Pierre's quote in mind when you're trying to achieve something: The greater the effort, the greater the glory.

Question 1 is from Andrea! (Life is a Science Experiment): Why the hell haven't I been following your blog for all this time?

Answer: Probably because I keep taking the link off my bubble in the Shop xD

2. How did you develop your blog/get so many followers? I'm asking because I'm genuinely curious as to how you can build a real community on Blogger.

Answer: Lets see, I've had my blog since June 2010. Over a year ago! Wow, I didn't realize that until now. Well, the bottom of the Dashboard was a list of Help links for Blogger. I clicked around those and found this place called The Coffee Shop, "Share blogs; talk life!" Was the motto then. It's a Blogger forum where, if people can find it that is, bloggers go and can talk with other bloggers.

There's a lot of interesting people in Shop, such as Andrea up there. A year ago, there used to be so many threads of conversations and quirky people, I was addicted! But in the past year, it's gotten kind of "eh"; too many trolls and drama queens.

Funny thing is that all the drama queens are middle age people! So go and adventure through there, just beware: the regulars (I and some others) aren't very fond of "spamming" your blog links and religion threads. I'll help you here and say it's good to make a "bubble" first. That holds your blog link in it, where people can hover over your user icon and click on it. I get most of my hits from that.

Another way I get hits and followers is when a reader puts me in their blog roll; I never ask for this by the way. I just randomly check my traffic sources and I see other bloggers put me there. Or mention my link in a post, etc.

But yes, most of my hits come from the Shop. There's threads in there where people ask "what was the last thing you posted?" and "who has a blog about this?" and you can put your link in those. It helps a lot really. Followers just come from over the years.

Don't be fooled, though. Like I said up there, I have 233 followers, but I don't get much action on here. Followers isn't what it's all cracked up to be, really. But then again, I post a lot of pictures. Eh, tomato, tomahto.

Question 3! (again from Devon):What is your favorite genre of music? Any music you can't stop listening to?

Answer: I love everything lol I go through phases as to what is my favorite to listen to; just depends on my mood. My favorites are House, Pop, Metal, Punk/Alternative, Classic Rock, and Classical music. Oh, and some Dubstep. Can't forget the Dubstep!

In fact, I do have a Music Page at the top of my blog here. I've been trying to update it frequently, but I do tend to forget for a few weeks. I added a lot of new stuff yesterday though. It's categorized into genre's.

Right now though, I can't stop listening to "Midnight Train" from Morandi. It's there in the page, don't worry.

I love stuff that's upbeat and I can dance to, though I can't dance for the life of me. I have issues with people who complain about "today's music" and always talks about how music has to be meaningful and emotional. I just don't understand why. Why must I listen to something that reminds me of a sad time, and makes me think? I want to listen to music so I can relax. So House, Dubstep, Club, Upbeat stuff in general helps me do that. I like it, it's catchy.

Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it isn't music! So if you (the reader in general) is the type of person who says that, then stop being so ignorant.

I'm going to make the other few questions as a different post, since it's a few different ones and this post is long enough.

I keep seeing these comments and sites where guys are complaining about the women they get involved with.
They say things like, even if a guy here is in a "loving" relationship, the girlfriend will talk badly about the guy behind his back.

Maybe you're just a dick boyfriend...? Ever thought of that? Seriously, with these comments listed in here, I'm pretty sure you're the problem, bro. There's no reason to be nice to you if you're going to treat us like so.

The funny thing about AW (yeah, they went far enough as to ABBREVIATE "american women") that even though they are such horrible mates, they NEED MEN whether they'll admit it or not.

Yeah? What about gay guys? And as terrible as us women are, you still come after us with your tongues hanging out and your dick poking through your pants at the sight of a side-boob.

12% of men in the US will only marry a foreign woman (not american). That leaves only 60% of men in the US who want to marry an American woman.

Yeah, only more than half of the nation.

So, I want to write more on here, but being out of school for so long, my vocabulary and attention span has gone way down and I can't stay focused on anything very long. Thankfully, school has started and I'll be using my noggin plenty.

I've had this idea for a while, but wasn't sure if it was too "FormSpring-y" or "Facebook-y", but bear with me here.

This idea is you guy asking me anything. It can be about me, my life, my views on something, anything. Though I'd stray from the "advice" category. I more want to talk about topics and not romance issues.

Few days ago I looked at my stat's and saw that a lot of hits were coming from this site, so I clicked on it to check it out. They say they're a mix of Facebook/MySpace/Twitter.

But apparently they're just spammers/hackers. From this article about them, they just hack into your account and fuck with your shit to make it seem like you have views coming from there.

You don't.

I signed up myself just to see if I could find where my blog link would've been located, and I didn't find anything, just like the article said.

You can't blame me though, it's my blog and if some website is promoting it, I want to know where they're promoting it from.

But they're not, so just ignore these guys and put the word out.

Plus, the site is full of weirdo wanna-be's anyway. I've never seen a site with so many old people who dress as scene/emo kids.

I've been working on my master hallway/dressing area for the past few weeks, trying to make it more funky, fashionable and cozy too. In my search for inspiration, I keep returning to this delightful space belonging to actress Amy Sedaris. I love that there is so much going on in a narrow space, with the flocked Osbourne and Little wallpaper and framed pictures and wooden bats. It's certainly an example of "more is more," which I'm all about!

Lately, I've been felling completely unsocial.

I scroll through my Facebook newsfeed and I can't find one person I want to talk to. I can't find many people who I want to call my "friend" anymore. I can't think of anyone who I have anything in common with.

Though there is a couple; those are the ones who I've met online, through Blogger. I love those guys best, they're such a fun mix of people from all over the world. Sadly, they all live in different countries or states from me.

Is it weird that I feel closer to people who I've never physically met, than the people who I know in person and used to hang out with?

Other than Mike, of course. Anyway.

If I could, I would go throughout my Facebook and delete everyone but a handful. But I don't. Why don't I? I don't care for those people anymore. I don't know why I don't. I guess I don't want to have only 15 people on my friendslist.

So that's why I have a G+ account! I can have my own little group of fun people on there.

I'm a terrible person, I know.

See, I'm an introvert. I'm not afraid of people, I just prefer to not talk to the random person next to me. I don't like to pretend to be extremely nice for the sake of being "polite". Unlike normal people, or extroverts, I feel a weird squeezing feeling when people I don't know try to talk to me. I'm overcome with the urge to smile and laugh more than I usually would, try to keep the chit-chat going, like a "normal" person would. Try to respond to everything they say, with more than just a giggle.

But I can't. I giggle and try to be polite, but in my head I'm yelling "please stop talking to me, please!! I don't know what else to say to you, I have nothing to contribute."

I'm weird, I know. I'm not like this all the time, just... the majority of it. I always feel as if I have to be overwhelmingly nice to people I don't know well. Hell, even with my "friends". They're all so uber nice to each other and shit, and I just can't be that nice. I'm a nice person, but I will not shower you in compliments and give you girly-best-friend-cheek-kisses. I will not playfully lay on my friends, or flop down on their bed and open their books. I won't eat their food unless it's offered to me.

I just can't do that.

I don't know what it is, I just don't like talking to people.

Say what you mean and mean what you say.

First, I am hounded for a year about getting my license.

I patiently go through 8 months of driving practice and driving school and courses and behind the wheel practice.

I get my license.

Grandmother says I can get any car for under $5k. Reasonable. Not complaining; a car is a car.

I find one for $4k. A cute little black 1998 Volkswagen Jetta, Wolfsburg Edition.

She says no. I cannot have that car because it's "blue book" cost is only $3k and the dealer won't come down.

Want to know what I hate? When people change up what they say last fucking minute. Any car under $5k means, last time I checked, any car under $5k.

We can afford it. It may or may not be a tad over priced.

Actually, I just looked online at three other sites, and they all say relatively the same price: $3,300 - $4,700

And they all say exactly that. So if anything, it's a reasonable price.

So...what is the big deal?

Not to mention that my wonderfully logical mother wants me to wait until I'm fucking 20 years old to get a car. In her eyes, her, my uncle (the one that hates me, Jack) and my grandma were all going to "pay for it together" and that it will take a few months to "get the money saved".

Knowing her with money, this won't happen. I even highly doubt her "I'm 99% sure you'll get a car at 20" statement. Oh, how I doubt it. She still owes me $80 total that she's "borrowed" from me.

Now, it's not like I'm being a greedy teenager who wants a car. I'm not asking for the newest, fastest, sexiest car. It's a '98 Jetta! USED! With 80k miles on it already! I need a car to drive myself to and from school; I can't just always wait on my mother to drive over to where I am to take me to school. I can't use the truck to drive wherever I need to go; she never has gas! And she has her own plans. I also need one so I can go to the store when I need to, instead of asking her or grandma and having them complain that it's "too late" to go anywhere. "Too late" meaning anything past 4pm.

I just don't get it. Why make me get my license when I won't get a car for many, many, MANY months, probably years if I know my mother at all, and why tell me that you'll get me anything under $5k (straight up, nothing else was added to what she said, no exceptions at all) and then say no when I find the perfect fucking car for myself that has been rated as a great and reliable car to get me from point A to point B?

WHY?!

It's fucking useless effort! Trying for no reason! Planning for nothing!

Maybe if they weren't on my ass every week for a year to get my license, I wouldn't be so cranky and pissed off, but alas, they did ride my ass every week, asking all the time "when are you getting your license? You need to get your license!" And then I do, and then I can't use it.

The story of how I got my license.

I went to the DMV today to do my behind the wheel driving test.

It's my second time, I failed the first one.

I told mom I failed, she just said, "oh well, we'll just reschedule!"

All was fine on the western front.

And then today happened. Suddenly she was angry, for whatever reason I couldn't find. She picks me up for school, and asks, "So do you think you'll do better today?"
"Uh, yeah? Why not?"
"Because you failed last time. You could fail again, you know. Maybe you will fail."
"Thanks for the support, mom."

She then continues the drive to school in the most perfect road manner, telling me "see? THIS is how you do it! Not the way you were! THIS is perfect!" She wasn't even in the goddamned car when I took my test!

Later we get to the DMV. She's irritable and on edge and pissed off at me, and me only. We get to the front of the line, and the nice lady asks, "How may I help you today?"
"We're here for her driving test. She failed last time and needs to retake it."
"No problem! Let me just see your information."
Mom hands her the information.
"What do we do when we need to renew her permit?" (Keyword: when. The support just keeps coming!)
The lady says, "Just do what you did the first time and bring all the information... How many times has she taken it??"
"This is her second time."
"Oh, well she still has two more times until she needs to do that... This one and one more chance. She'll do fine!"
"She might fail though."
"...Well lets just stay positive, I'm sure Angela will do just fine!"
"We'll see about that."

The lady gave me a nice smile, and I'm about to burst into tears.

What the fuck kind of mother does that? Seriously? If you ever do that to your children, you've fucking failed parenting. There's no coming back from that, either. No amount of apologies or gifts can ever bring you back from this kind of shit.

Fuck you if you ever do this.

So we go wait in the line, and she's cussing to herself and being over-dramatic at the heat. It's not even that hot. The instructors take time getting to the other students because they take a while to talk over with you about your driving, if you passed or not. I'm patient and just waiting my turn. Mother on the other hand, is cussing mumbling under her breath, "oh my fucking god, come on already! Fucking shit, hurry up. Ugh, it's so fucking HOT. Angela you could at least roll down your fucking window a little bit, UGH!!"

By the time we get to the front, she's spread out all over the fucking car with her legs all over the damn place, looking distressed and very un-lady like. Like, holy fuck can she be anymore un-presentable and disgusting?

I get George, I think his name was. He says, "Hello! I'm George and I'll be your instructor today!"

Mom glares at him.

"...Okay we'll just do our button and turn signal check, and then get going! *looks at mom awkwardly* Uh, we'll be back in about 20-30 minutes?"

"Oh, I can leave now? Thank God."

So we do the check and stuff, and he gets in the car and repeats what the first guy told me. Then he asks me, "Are you nervous?"
"Sort of..."
"Yeah, you look it. Just relax and pretend I'm not here!"
"It's not really that, my mom just kept saying I'm going to fail again."
"Awh, well you'll do fine! It's simple."

So off we go, and I make only one wide turn, and my stops were a little shorter than what's preferred, but I passed! And while I'm nearly in tears, I go to mom and I actually have a small smile tinkling on my face, and I tell her, "I passed this time!"

Her response?

"About fucking time. Let me see that paper," and snatches it out of my hand. "So you didn't speed up and slam on the breaks this time?"
"I never did that, mom."

I never did, either. WTF.

Then I go stand in line, and I see my friend there and we start talking. Mom interrupts, "Angela go to window 27!"
"Uhm, okay... Hey I have to go now." And I leave my friend to go to window 27.

Then the guy says we have to wait in the line I was just fucking in. "So you made me get out of line to walk up here to be told to get back in line?"
"Oh shut the fuck up, Angela and go stand in the line."

Like. What. The. Fuck. Isyourmotherfuckingsonofabitchshitfuck PROBLEM?!

I get in line, we do the stuff, I get my temporary license until my official one comes in the mail, then we go back to the car.

"CONGRATULATIONS, you proved me wrong."

I don't think I could fathom the words and emotions that I had to hold in to NOT FUCKING PUNCH THIS CUNT INTO FUCKING TRAFFIC.

I don't give a rats ASS if this is my "mother," SHOW ME HER MOTHERLY-NESS AND THEN I'LL GIVE HER THE RESPECT OF A MOTHER.

FUCK YOU, MOM. FUCK YOU WITH A MOTHER FUCKING CHAINSAW.

As I've probably mentioned before, while the name of my blog is Peacock Feathers, I do not actually have a thing for peacocks or collect peacock-decorated things. Having said that - I am dying for a gorgeous taxidermy peacock like the two showcased in Deborah Lloyd's home. Totally glamorous and decadent, I dream of a grand foyer with that white peacock greeting guests as they enter. Sigh... that would be fabulous!

Ever meet anyone who goes out of their way to make others miserable, just to feed their own ego?

Yeah, those people suck. I honestly feel bad for them, really. What kind of life do you live, or lived as a child, that you now thrive on causing drama, literally for no reason? They could start an argument over the smallest, insignificant thing.

And the best part is when you're just chillin', trying to have a regular conversation like a civilized human being, debate opinions (yeah, remember that word, asshole? OPINION?) and they suddenly think you're a complete idiot and they don't have time for you anymore.

It doesn't stop there, though. Oh no; it is a law for them to say you're the child in the conversation. Not them, of course.

They can't be happy until they drag everyone into their issues. And finally, when everyone around them suddenly hates them (for obvious reasons) and causing drama instead of being polite, they're the victim.

"Oh, woe is me! Everyone hates me :( I can't have friends, no one understands me! You don't know who I is! You will never know! How dare you judge me, you bitch! You're all such children and I am significantly more important and better than all of you are and my intelligence exceeds yours greatly! *HUFF HUFF* I won't change for anyone! I hate everyone and I'm a nice person!"

I could go on. I'm pretty sure all of you have encountered at least one of those? Yes? Good, so we're all on the same page then.

They're also very good at knowing everything better than you. Everything. Doesn't matter what it is, because now they suddenly have a degree in it, or their parents did or great grandpa survived it/taught it/was a specialist/expert/won a Nobel Prize for knowing it/brain exploded from all of the knowledge shoved into it, etc.

But you? You know nothing. You are the dumbest thing to ever walk the earth and you shouldn't even have the right to breathe the same air as them.

All over nothing.

These types of attention whores are unique. They're good at what they do. Why? Because everyone knows they're faking it, and everyone knows not to take anything the attention whore says seriously; but yet, they do. You can't help but be involved in it. You know they're faking it. You know you should just stop reading and let it go.

But something drags you into it.

I don't know what they get from it. Sometimes, they're not even kidding. Sometimes, you find a rare one who is actually serious. That or maybe they're just much better than the others at acting.

I don't know.

Point is... well there is no point. I just don't fucking understand.

I hate these people. They know it, and that makes them jizz rainbows all over their Froot of the Looms.

I guess I'm an idiot for knowing basic grammar.

Have you ever encountered someone who continuously uses bad grammar? I'm sure you have, it's the internet after all.

No one cares on the internet.

So I come across these people, who always misuse "your" and "you're".

Basic. Fucking. Shit. Right? Or is this really a lot more complicated than I thought, and I'm just a genius? I could take that as an answer.

So, another little stupid story about my "friends". Or more specifically, a friend of a friend.

To start off, I hate this guy. I hate a lot of the new people they've recruited. And apparently, they don't like me much either.

Surprise, surprise. Like I didn't know that.

I'll make a long story short.

Fuckface comments on my friends status, and uses the wrong "your". I comment saying that it saddens me that kids who are nearly in college, or even in college, hell high school, can't use the correct "your" and "you're".

He says, "well it angers me when people correct me."

Well maybe if you used the correct versions, people wouldn't be correcting you so often. Ever think of that, Einstein?

Of course I didn't say that, I said something much nicer. Because I'm such a nice person.

Eventually, I bluntly called him an idiot.

Then, he said this to me :

Being called an idiot by you is pretty much like being called an idiot by no one, because that's all you are to me. Every time I see you at parties I'm tempted to talk to you because you look like such a nice person but so many people tell me differently and now I understand them.

Awh, how cute, I hurt his ego!

All of this, because I mentioned that he used the wrong "your".

Talk about sore spots.

I don't get the big deal about it, at all. Why not just use the correct versions of your and you're, to fit the situation? Why purposely use the incorrect one? What is the purpose of you going to school for 13 years (up to high school) and not use the knowledge you have gained?

Not to mention, free knowledge. Unless you go to a private school. But otherwise, you just sign up, enroll, and ta da! Free education!

But sadly, 'tis all a waste on this generation. They don't care.

We are handed books, with endless answers to pretty much anything we want to know, and what do we do? We don't care. We don't want to read them. We don't want to learn how the human nervous system works, or how eyesight works, or how we're even still fucking alive.

We want to talk, and go online, and run around, drink, party, sleep, watch TV. We dread studying. We dread going to class. We dread reading one section or chapter. We continuously talk and act obnoxiously in class, even though someone has agreed to stand up there and give us answers and knowledge to amazing things.

But no, who cares? Who actually wants to learn this shit? Even most straight A students don't want to learn, they're forced to so they can get into Ivy League colleges and scholarships and earn money.

Which is cool and all, but do you care about what you learned to get there?

I've always complained about the same shit. Stupid tests, stupid teachers, stupid homework, stupid reading.
But then I thought, this is given to me. I read this, I am now smarter than I was an hour ago. I read about how that works, and now I can fix it myself. I read about my body, and now I know when I'm sick and what I'm sick with, and can help others (which has actually happened).

I learn my grammar, and now I don't spell or sound like an idiot, and I can make my point clearly. Usually.

So, what I don't get is, how come I, the one who uses my knowledge daily, am the idiot and the asshole and bitch, but he, the fuckface who misspells things and uses incorrect grammar (not to mention shoots out personal attacks) is the hero everyone loves?

And also, why should people just not give a fuck "because it's the Internet"? How is this a valid excuse? Do people really sign online and think, "oh goody, now I can purposely misspell everything and be an obnoxious idiot!"?

This world continues to sadden me. It's really a shame where we've landed. Ancestors who fought for rights, and this is what we do with them.

I came across Extasia's collection of intaglio jewelry at an adorable jewelry boutique in Cape May, NJ called Victorious. I love the opaque, candy-colored German pressed glass that is used to update these Victorian designs. The colors truly pop, especially the acid green and the periwinkle, and some like the orange are approaching neon territory! So fun!

I'm enamored with this chic and cheerful breakfast nook and kitchen that was featured in the July issue of Southern Living magazine. Using a sofa in place of a more expected banquette is such a genius idea , and it looks great with the mod Saarinen table. I'll definitely be saving these images for my inspiration folder, for that day when I have a kitchen large enough to accommodate a dining area.

Starting Over.

Have you ever wanted to delete almost everyone off of your friends list?

Just get rid of them and start over? Make new friends, find new people?

I do, sometimes. Sometimes I want to delete most of the people on my Facebook.

I don't really know what it is. I'm not one of "them" anymore. They have their big group of people I used to be really good friends with, and then they've mashed it together with a bunch of new people I've never met, but they're all suddenly great friends with, too.

And then, I wasn't invited anywhere. Hell, yesterday was my good friends birthday (he's actually the only one who's directly invited me to an event in the past few months), and I was only in 2 pictures. One is the back of my head. The other is of me, standing alone smiling at the camera, that my friend took.

Yay, memories!

They all go do things almost everyday together, take a billion pictures and brag about it online that they got to see everyone and hang out and all these new inside jokes and everything.

I wasn't mentioned once in any of the status's for my friends birthday.

I guess you could say I'm jealous, and I am. However, I'm not jealous of my friends specifically. I'm envious that they all have each other, a big group of friends to have fun with.

I don't have that anymore. Why, you may ask?

Well, from what I can put together, it's because they're prudes and flip out that my wonderful boyfriend smokes and likes to drink on occasion.

We've been over this in a previous post.

Other than that, I can't think of anything else for it. Ever since I started inviting him along, they've pushed me out little by little. Maybe they just think I'm busy with him, but does that mean they should just stop asking all together and just assume I'm not available?

Meh. I hate talking about it. It makes me feel pathetic. I am pathetic. I can't keep friends. I keep losing them. I guess there's the college excuse. It's not like I just stopped talking to them or anything, I always talk to them online since that's the only time I ever can talk to them.

Since they're always out doing shit together.

I'm getting frustrated with it. I need college friends. I hate to say it, but these current ones still act like they're sixteen and are in that phase where it was cool to not drink or smoke, and to be wild and crazy and do stupid shit and not give a fuck.

But in reality, no one gives a fuck.

Maybe it's a completely different reason that I don't know. Whatever it is, fuck it.

Anyway, back to the original point. Today, I saw all the new status's about my friends birthday party, and all the pictures they've uploaded and whatnot, and I thought, what would happen if I just deleted them all?

Well for one, I'd have no friends. Period. But it's sort of tempting.

I don't know. Can someone give me the answer, please? Thinking hurts after so long.

Just a small rant.

Things that waiters do that annoy the living crap out of me.

1. Refilling my glass when we're about to leave. Just...why? Now I'm obligated to drink it so it doesn't go to waste.

2. Refilling my glass when I take two sips. This is just unnecessary. Please stop refilling my drink unless it's over halfway gone. Or at least ask if we want more.

3. Interrupting conversation just to say the food is almost done. When the place is packed or we're in a rush, this is okay. Not when we've been there for 10 minutes and are the only people in there.

4. Asking if I need anything when my mouth is full. This is just rude. It seems to be a waiters ultimate talent. I know you've got other customers, so go play with them for a few minutes. Don't ask me a question as soon as I've shoved a burger into my face.

5. Giving uneven amounts of bread or biscuits. The OCD in me kills me every time with this. There are two people, you give them three slices of bread. There are three people, you give them five slices of bread. WHY?!

And what's with people who talk on their cellphones in restaurants? Did your mother never teach you manners? I mean, it's common sense. C'mon!

Tired Of It.

I'm not sure if my grandma is just old and senile, or if she's just stupid and blaming it on being old and senile.

Lets see :
Two days ago, she got the brilliant idea to take all of my body wash out of the shower, and put my toothpaste in there.
Yesterday, we were out to lunch and she ordered a side salad. It arrived, and she shoved it aside saying she'll just take it home, when she could've told the waitress that she wanted to take it home in the first place, instead of wasting a dish and the poor girls time.
Today she decided to put hair conditioner into the hand soap.
She also ate MY food. She didn't know it was mine, when it's obvious that it was mine because it was organic and from Whole Foods, when all she ever buys herself is cookies and juice.

"Don't worry, you wouldn't have liked it anyway," she says.
Because apparently, I buy food I won't like. You know, not shit that I'll eat when I'm fucking hungry.

We are now out of any sort of meals. We have a bunch of rice, and that's it. I'm not kidding. Rice, and summer sausage. She won't go grocery shopping because it's "too hot," yet, she'll go out to lunch.

In the car.
Outside.
In the heat.
We drive by two grocery stores.
Stupid or senile, you decide.

It'd be really, really nice if for once in my life I could have an actual dinner meal, and not something you microwave or cook on the stove for three minutes and "just add water and our seasoning packet!"

The second thing I'm tired of is my friends. They're good people, really. Lately, the past few months, I've been pretty much left out of all of their events. They make random ones all the time, and so far almost everyday. Just spur of the moment things and they can all go.

I make an event so I can see them all, and none of them can go. They're all "busy". Or don't have a ride.
And here they say it's sad that I don't have my license when most of them don't, either. Not like I have a car to drive it with! It's also not my fault that my mother took months to get the right side mirror fixed so I could legally drive it, and it's also not my fault that her insurance bounced and so I couldn't drive for another month. And lastly, it is also not my fault that she doesn't have a job, so she never has money for GAS.

Fuck off, seriously.

They seem to be stuck on "not drinking is the cool new thing and everyone's doing it!" and not in the "no one on Earth actually gives a fuck if you drink or not" phase. My boyfriend drinks. He's Russian, it's pretty much obligatory for him to drink. What kind of Russian would he be if he didn't have a shot of Vodka with his morning cereal?

I kid.

Sort of.

He doesn't drink often, either. My friend makes an event for his birthday party, this friend would drink if it was there pretty much. Not much of a drinker himself, though. Anyway, Mike asks if he could bring some booze.

Everyone flipped a fat bitch.

This is a short version of how the conversation went :
Mike : Booze?
Friend 1 : If there's booze, I'm so not going to drink!
Friend 2 : Yeah, I'm with Friend 1!
Me : There won't be booze.
Friend 2 : Well I'm just saying if there is, I wouldn't drink it :D
Me : But there won't be, so it's pointless to state that.
Friend 3 : Booze? Count me out!
Me : There won't be booze!
Friend 4 : Yeah guys, lets just keep this a sober party :D
Me : THERE WON'T BE ANY ALCOHOL FOR FUCKS SAKE.
Friend 1 : Jesus...
Friend 5 : I'm not going to drink, either.
Friend 2 : Yeah me either!!

By this time, I've ran my head into a wall too many times to reply back.
Life Tip #102: Beware of Hipster friends.

I wish I had friends who didn't care if he smokes or drinks. Or leave me out of events. All of the past events. The only reason I was invited to the last one was because I ran into them and someone randomly mentioned it. Not that I could go, though. Mom had no gas and no one could give me a ride.

I need college friends. It'd be nice to see my name tagged in all of those status's of them bragging about what a great day they had with everyone. It'd be nice to see more than 2 people try to talk to Mike and not have him shoved off into the corner.

Oh well, it's not my fault that most of them won't give him a chance. Maybe if I went off and dated someone in the group like the rest of them do and cause stupid drama I'd still fit right in.

*sigh*.
